9 Easy Ways to Sneak More Exercise Into Your Day

At Belty, we believe in making the most out of the small moments throughout the day. You can be at your desk, working on the last smart belt and take care of you.You don’t need to spend an hour at the gym to get a bit of exercise every day. Try these easy fixes to increase your daily activity.

1. Stretch

Stretching is a simple activity you can do anywhere, even at your desk. It helps blood flow and increases your range of motion. It can also help prevent injury. Keep it light, and hold stretches for at least 30 seconds.

2. One-mile rule

If you live close to the city center, there are likely many places you can walk instead of drive. Save on gas and parking, avoid traffic and get a brisk walk in the next time you need to run an errand close to home.

3. Walking meeting

For short 1-on-1 meetings, consider taking it outside. Get some exercise and see what changing the scenery can do for your mood and creativity.

4. Take the stairs

This is an easy one most of us know we should do, but it’s still a great way to burn a few extra calories and get your heart rate up.

5. Park further away

Wherever you are, make a habit of parking at the back of the lot. You’ll hardly notice the extra distance, but over the week it’ll ad up. Also, you’re less likely to get in a fender bender.

6. Bike to work

Biking to work is an excellent way to get exercise and reduce your carbon footprint. You don’t have to do it every day, try starting with just 1 or 2. Many companies even have change room and shower facilities to freshen up in.

7. Chores

Household chores are a great opportunity to get your body moving a little harder. Scrubbing the tub, washing the car or raking the leaves can provide an opportunity for a little exercise while tidying.

8. TV Time

There are lots of exercises you can do while watching TV, and it sure beats watching commercials. If you don’t have free weights or an exercise bike, try pushups, situps or squats while enjoying your favorite shows.

9. Play with the dog

Owning a dog makes you much more likely to be physically active. Most dogs need at least a walk every day – or more. A gym membership is much easier to ignore than man’s best friend.
